"A Day Without a Mexican"

I love the movie "A Day Without a Mexican." I think all Latinos should get together and do this so that the US gets on their knees begging for them back. If I was Latino - this would be on my mind.

It seems that Americans want to forget a big part of the problems of the drug war spilling over onto the borders of the US is a direct result of investigative branches now collaborating investigations with Mexican authorities because they have tried to turn the drug tide with insistence and help from our government to do so. For clarity:I am not saying I disagree with this policy -- I am just saying most people act ignorant to the facts. A big part of the reason for change happening was the Freedom of Information Act which allows this to now be possible.

Everyone agrees there is a problem.

In my town there was a law passed for hospital taxes that was slid under the radar. With Arizona having such a large portion of Hispanics who are Legal - it makes me wonder if this law wasn't slid in by the people who wanted it too. You can tell me 64% all you want to but if 100% of the people were not well informed of the vote-it was not fair at all.

Instead of passing racist idiotic laws why don't we teach the people in Mexico how to support themselves?

I will tell you why the government doesn't - because they are afraid Mexico will start doing better than the US in business.

Why not spread education instead of hate? Why not help Mexico obtain the resources it needs to educate and support themselves so they don't have to come over here? Why not make it easier to get a passport? Just applying takes an unobtainable amount of money and all chances point to wasting the money because most are DENIED.

When I lived in Mexico years ago (by the way I was never discriminated against more than just being called "gringa" ) some of my friends told me that they earned for the best American factory work three American dollars a day. Let me tell you food is less expensive there but other things are not or were not in my region. Imagine living on three or four US dollars a day supporting your family.

Why all the prejudice against Hispanics when there are many Chinese,European,Indian,Middle Eastern, etc Immigrants as well?

This is all political and driven by candidates who are trying to get elected right now.

I am starting to loose my faith in people. As a family member of mine sat at the table on night and said "F em and kill em all...Kill all the f*in illegals...Give me a gun and I will help if I need too..." I lost my faith in humanity.

I am starting to loose my faith in religion as well. When an Elder in my church makes a statement on his Facebook page that states "We should just put landmines by the border to blow them up if they come over" then I know Christian ideals are pretty much lost. Christian love is not spread to anyone.

This Elder worked for Immigration and that has made me loose faith in the laws of this land that were once made for Equality as was written in the Constitution. I realize of course that he does not represent the views of all parties and people involved or working with ICE (thank you for that God-I take small miracles when I can get them)

These are real people with real problems and real issues. They are not cattle and there should be no reason to talk of them as such. They are living breathing human beings who deserve to live just as much as the next person. My only reassurance lies in knowing that God has the authority to take someones life away - even if it is at the hands of others.

Please be well informed before you make any arguments.

I for one hope the controversy dies down soon because I am tired of being attacked for believing that all humans should be treated like humans and not cattle.
